I would like to send a heart felt thank you to all vets present and past. I would like to share with you reading this that with the way vets are being treated whether it’s avoidance, neglect or just plain disrespect a story that I watched and it has brought me to a complete understanding that these men and women have put there lives for the betterment of this country and all they got in return was grief. Please, watch this video and get yourself involved to help the many in need.

Woke up this morning feeling really good about the day. My started with my lovely wife wishing me a Happy Father’s Day as soon as I got out of bed which was pretty awesome. One by one my kids called me up wishing me the same and telling me to have a great day. I felt even better after that so I went downstairs to find my phone so that I call my brother, dad and step-dad and bless them with the same wishes I got from my kids. Well after the phone calls were delivered I did some quick clean up around the house and then proceeded to join in on the fun with my two daughters and my wife in the recently filled pool. Wow are my legs tired - Aubrey and I began to go in circles (not hard at all, seeing that the pool is round) to make the water go in one direction. We had it going so fast that Aubrey stopped for a moment but had trouble doing so because we created such a strong water flow that she was unable to just sit near the edge. She had to hold onto the side of pool just to maintain her position. We had a good time today - now I’m here writing this post and looking forward to some shooting on Combat Arms. See you guys later.
:)

The link below will take you to my daughter’s choir group singing “Willow”. She can easily be seen in the crowd - how you ask? First of all she’s the cutest and most prettiest, that and she’s wearing a bright pink bow on her head. Check the link out and let me know what you think of the performance.

boat-tip.jpgAs you can see from the photo to the left the crew/team that was in charge of loading that vessel probably got canned almost immediately. I am not writing this post to say that my day was that bad - if anything I’m writing to say that today was an awesome day. My wife and I (mainly my wife) put together a great Thanksgiving day dinner for the kids and ourselves. I would like to take a moment to send my wife Lisa a great big Thank You for pulling everything together and make it all flow smoothly. I’ve had days close to today but not like today, working with my wife on the dinner of all dinners was an experience that I will hold true to my heart forever.
I love you Lisa

The following video was sent to me from a good friend that enjoys displays like this. I would love to know how long it took to put them al up and then having them sequenced accoring to the song. With what I saw it looks like it might be a few thousand lights and a nice high light bill to go with it. Something like this really shows me that people still have a lot of love in their hearts for just about anything.
Enjoy
:)

Before you watch the video below I would like to inform those of you who are sport nuts especially when it comes to baseball to realize that this woman is probably available for any team. Watch the video and let me know what you think.

Watch the video again and notice that she went from a seated position to a full sprint then climbs two walls while extending herself completely to make a great catch and of course the graceful landing. She is something else. A hell of a nice catch.

emily-intel.JPGThe image you see to the left is that of my oldest daughter Emily that has recently moved to California to pursue a career with intel. I wish nothing but the best for her on this adventure. I am so proud of her for putting in the time, the energy and above all the heart into what looks to be a very prosperous future. I miss you tremendously Emily, I hope to be visitng you later on this year with your mom.

I will be putting up some more images of where she lives in the next few days. My wife will be bringing me a ton of images for me to see and drool over. Just to make sure those of you reading this understand that I won’t be putting anything up immediately because I plan on spending some time with my wife when she gets in tonight before uploading images.

Day one is almost done and I’m missing the two of them very much. Well my wife more of course, for those of you who don’t know - my daughter graduated from UT and has landed a job with intel out in California.

My wife and her friend accompanied my daughter on the long journey through the many states to reach Cali. Well they’re actually taking the scenic route which includes Amarillo, TX, Roswell, NM and The Grand Canyon in Arizona. They’ll be flying back next week while my daughter starts her career in the west coast.

I hope to see her again this year so the Mrs. and I figured we can kill two birds with one stone by visiting the “Garden of the Gods” on our way to see her. Good night ladies and I love you all (my wife a little more).

BOSTON (UPI) — Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett combined for 55 points Wednesday and Boston held on down the stretch for a 96-89 playoff victory over Cleveland.

The Celtics took a 3-2 lead in the Eastern Conference semifinal series and will try to close out the Cavaliers in Cleveland Friday.

Cleveland took a 14-point lead early in the second quarter, but the Celtics closed to within three at halftime and began to pull away late in the third.

The Cavaliers, however, closed within four during the final minute and Boston needed five free throws from Pierce in the last 15 seconds to protect its lead.

Pierce scored 29 points and Garnett had 17 rebounds to go with his 26 points. Rajon Rondo contributed 20 points and 13 assists.

Cleveland’s LeBron James scored 35 points, but only 12 of them came in the second half. Until the Cavaliers’ late push, James had managed just four points in the final two quarters.

Cleveland hurt its cause by missing 13 of 41 free throws and 13 of 16 three-point attempts.

With tomorrow’s game just around the corner I hope that the Cavs get their act together because I would love to see them match up against the other so called talents still fighting to win that ever popular NBA Championship.

‘The Pledge of Allegiance’ - by Senator John McCain

As you may know, I spent five and one half years as
a prisoner of war during the Vietnam War. In the
early years of our imprisonment, the NVA kept us in
solitary confinement or two or three to a cell. In
1971 the NVA moved us from these conditions of
isolation into large rooms with as many a s 30 to 40
men to a room.

This was, as you can imagine, a wonderful change
and was a direct result of the efforts of millions
of Americans on behalf of a few hundred POWs 10,000
miles from home. One of the men who moved into my
room was a young man named Mike Christian.

Mike came from a small town near Selma, Alabama. He
didn’t wear a pair of shoes until he was 13 years
old. At 17, he enlisted in the US Navy. He later
earned a commission by going to Officer Training
School Then he became a Naval Flight Officer and was
shot down and captured in 1967. Mike had a keen and
deep appreciation of the opportunities this country
and our military provide for people who want to work
and want to succeed.

As part of the change in treatment, the Vietnamese
allowed some prisoners to receive packages from
home. In some of these packages were handkerchiefs,
scarves and other items of clothing.

Mike got himself a bamboo needle. Over a period of a
couple of months, he created an American flag and
sewed on the inside of his shirt.

Every afternoon, before we had a bowl of soup, we
would hang Mike’s shirt on the wall of the cell and
say the Pledge of Allegiance.

I know the Pledge of Allegiance may not seem the
most important part of our day now, but I can assure
you that in that stark cell it was indeed the most
important and meaningful event.

One day the Vietnamese searched our cell, as they
did periodically, and discovered Mike’s shirt with
the flag sewn inside, and removed it.

That evening they returned, opened the door of the
cell, and for the benefit of all of us, beat Mike
Christian severely for the next couple of hours.
Then, they opened the door of the cell and threw him
in. We cleaned him up as well as we could.

The cell in which we lived had a concrete slab in
the middle on which we slept. Naked light bulbs
hung in each corner of the room.

As I said, we tried to clean up Mike as well as we
could. After the excitement died down, I looked in
the corner of the room, and sitting there beneath
that dim light bulb with a piece of red cloth,
another shirt and his bamboo needle, was my friend,
Mike Christian.

He was sitting there with his eyes almost shut from
the beating he had received, making another American
flag. He was not making the flag because it made
Mike Christian feel better. He was making that flag
because he knew how important it was to us to be
able to Pledge our allegiance to our flag and
country.

So the next time you say the Pledge of Allegiance,
you must never forget the sacrifice and courage that
thousands of Americans have made to build our nation
and promote freedom around the world.
You must remember our duty, our honor, and our
country

‘I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United
States of America and to the republic for which it
stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with
liberty and justice for all.’

I came across this article today and it reminded me that even though someone is dead they are not forgotten - I’m not talking about family members remembering, I’m talking about complete strangers that are taking the extra step to identify and locate the unnamed and the missing.

The unnamed dead are everywhere — buried in unmarked graves, tagged in county morgues, dumped in rivers and under bridges, interred in potter’s fields and all manner of makeshift tombs. There are more than 40,000 unnamed bodies in the U.S., according to national law enforcement reports, and about 100,000 people formally listed as missing.

My wife and I have taken two years from our lives pursuing the same goal. It started out with the search of my wife’s family and it ended up being a large collection of names that did not have a home or place. She has published a great book titled “In Memory of…The loved and the forgotten of Ohio“. In this book you’ll read and see the many cemeteries we’ve seen and visited. You will also get an inside look of what my wife has found while researching soldiers that fount in the war here in Ohio many many years ago. I am glad to know that there is a network out there that is relentless in finding out what others chose to ignore.

I got this info from a good friend the other day. I want you to please watch the video and then tell me what you think. Please leave a comment regarding your thoughts as well as what you would do different. I can tell you this much without ruining the video for you - I plan on trying this at least once a month because my family’s future is too precious to lose.
