Saturday would have been Ronald Reagan’s 99th birthday. His influence and the legacy have moved so many of us, including myself, to get in involved in politics.
This weekend we are opening up the Huck PAC blog to our Team Huck Volunteers and asking them to post their thoughts/memories of President Reagan. We are also adding a blog titled “I Miss President Reagan” to our website for Huck PAC supporters and Reagan fans from across the nation to leave a message/memory of President Reagan. Throughout the day we will also post some video, excerpts of speeches and news stories about President Reagan that we have collected for tomorrow.
Our plan is to share the responses with the Reagan Library and Mrs. Reagan. Use the link below leave your messge.
I hope you will participate in this worthy project.
I would like to send a heart felt thank you to all vets present and past. I would like to share with you reading this that with the way vets are being treated whether it’s avoidance, neglect or just plain disrespect a story that I watched and it has brought me to a complete understanding that these men and women have put there lives for the betterment of this country and all they got in return was grief. Please, watch this video and get yourself involved to help the many in need.
Woke up this morning feeling really good about the day. My started with my lovely wife wishing me a Happy Father’s Day as soon as I got out of bed which was pretty awesome. One by one my kids called me up wishing me the same and telling me to have a great day. I felt even better after that so I went downstairs to find my phone so that I call my brother, dad and step-dad and bless them with the same wishes I got from my kids. Well after the phone calls were delivered I did some quick clean up around the house and then proceeded to join in on the fun with my two daughters and my wife in the recently filled pool. Wow are my legs tired - Aubrey and I began to go in circles (not hard at all, seeing that the pool is round) to make the water go in one direction. We had it going so fast that Aubrey stopped for a moment but had trouble doing so because we created such a strong water flow that she was unable to just sit near the edge. She had to hold onto the side of pool just to maintain her position. We had a good time today - now I’m here writing this post and looking forward to some shooting on Combat Arms. See you guys later.
Watch the preview first then comment as to what you think of it. I think it will be a pretty darn good movie to catch on the big screen especially if you dig the science fiction aspect of it. If you’re a Heroes fan then you’ll like this one.
Again please feel free to leave a comment on what you saw. This movie would be a good one to watch but propbably not with you’re significant other especially if you’re married. They may not be as entertained as you would be.
Enjoy
The next few posts that I display will show you a few movies that are due to come out this year and from the looks of they look to be quite interesting. I will not mention them on this post but keep coming back and you’ll see them appear on a regular basis. Yes I know that most of you reading this don’t really have the money to go out and watch a these movies at the theaters but maybe you’ll catch one of them.
Enjoy-
As you can see from the photo to the left the crew/team that was in charge of loading that vessel probably got canned almost immediately. I am not writing this post to say that my day was that bad - if anything I’m writing to say that today was an awesome day. My wife and I (mainly my wife) put together a great Thanksgiving day dinner for the kids and ourselves. I would like to take a moment to send my wife Lisa a great big Thank You for pulling everything together and make it all flow smoothly. I’ve had days close to today but not like today, working with my wife on the dinner of all dinners was an experience that I will hold true to my heart forever.
I love you Lisa
With today being a day of memories and mourning I took a look through the many memorials that have been erected since that sad and terrible day and I have to say that the Pentagon Memorial Park is a memorial park like no other the benches are inscribed with one-hundred and eighty-four memorial units. Each unit is dedicated to an individual victim - its placement and place within the collective field is a unique instance. The layout is presented in the way the flight path was when it crashed into the Pentagon. I will be joined millions of other loved ones throughout the United States and abroad this morning in a moment of silence. So please join me in remembering those lost that glorious morning.
I found this video when searching the different types of cancer that ruin lives for many people. Ben Teller’s story is truely heart wrenching but he took it to another level and decided to face cancer head on. Watch the video and please if at all possible visit the site and be generous and donate to the cause. Great Job Ben Teller! You are definitely a soldier against the army of cancer.
On Saturday my wife and I had the privilege to attend the annual Maumee River Dragon Boat Race. This year I joined the Toledo Parents under the name of “Powerful Paddelin Parents”. We had a blast the entire day, it started a bit late at first and just worse as the day went on but all in all it was a great experience. Our team came in 2nd in round one which wasn’t too bad considering I didn’t have any practice with the team the week before. On the second round we came in first place which of course is a great feeling especially when the other teams racing with you found it necessary to chant weird sayings and perform silly dances. Now on the third race we didn’t do too well - we came in fourth. I think that by the time we were up again from the second race we were pretty much in snooze mode. I believe it was about 2 hours before the last race. Well either way it was fun and I hope to join again next year and maybe bring home a trophy. I would like to thank my better half Lisa for waking up that early (7:00am) on a Saturday and then basically hang out the entire day under a hot sun - I would like to also thank the team that allowed me to participate and enjoy the fun with them. We’ll get them next year! If you want to see more photos of the event then please visit the link below. More Photos
Irresponsibility comes around but for many it creeps up on them and it catches them off guard. Watching the story linked below brought a rush of anger at first but by the end of the video I found myself sad for the family especially the mom. It’s mentioned that she might not of known that the kid was in the back seat hiding. At first I thought that there is no way for that to happen because the family would of been calling her to find out where the kid was but if the family knew the kid was going to be with the mom by either assuming or maybe the kid mentioned that he was going with her I saw that something like this could happen to anybody. My heart goes out to the family and to the mom even more.
I got this from a good friend of mine today please read it if you time. The following lines were written by Andy Rooney, a man who has the gift of saying so much with so few words.
Enjoy…….
I’ve learned…. That the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person.
I’ve learned…. That when you’re in love, it shows.
I’ve learned…. That just one person saying to me, ‘You’ve made my day!’ makes my day.
I’ve learned…. That having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of the most peaceful feelings in the world.
I’ve learned…. That being kind is more important than being right.
I’ve learned…. That yo u shou ld never say no to a gift from a child.
I’ve learned…. That I can always pray for someone when I don’t have the strength to help him in some other way.
First and foremost my hats off to this woman Mrs. Connie Heermann for placing herself in the line of fire in order to uphold a book that has proven to many other schools that students come around and do better in school when they are able to express themselves. The book in question is the popular “Writers Freedom” which can be found in many book stores as well as many school libraries. Mrs. Heermann has been suspended for a year and a half without pay because she decided to continue with using the book. The school board will be finding themselves in a lot of hot water because of their decision. The teachers union rep. is looking into this being a violation of her first amendment. If 149 of 150 families okay’d her to use the book to further her teaching abilities in the class room then it should be clear to the school board that those families are going to unite and see that none of them get re-elected next time around, so if some of these board members were planning on keeping their position(s) on the board maybe they should of thought before acting. Only time will tell as to what’s going to happen with the members.
Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there enjoying the day off. I wanted to post this up earlier but I had quite the busy day so I was unable to. I received many phone calls from my kids even one that traveled over 2,000 miles to reach me. Not many people believe that today should be recognized because moms usually do all the work at home and stuff but I do have to hand it to some of the dads out there that put in the extra time to make sure that things run smoothly. Congrats on all the fathers that stood by their duties and did not quit when times got rough.
Happy Father’s Day fellas.
