I would like to send a heart felt thank you to all vets present and past. I would like to share with you reading this that with the way vets are being treated whether it’s avoidance, neglect or just plain disrespect a story that I watched and it has brought me to a complete understanding that these men and women have put there lives for the betterment of this country and all they got in return was grief. Please, watch this video and get yourself involved to help the many in need.

I would like to start out by saying ‘Thank You’ to Fred and his crew at WSPD for taking the time to go to the ESM (Erie Street Market) and displaying exactly what goes on over there on a typical “business” morning. It didn’t look very crowded at all, heck I didn’t really see much for traffic inside either. Watch the video provided by WSPD and see for yourself the wonders and glories of the market.

I know many items that are presented during any inaugural event they end up to be collector items. While reading the CNN article that mentioned the ever so large hat that Ms. Franklin wore that special day I realized that pretty much anything can be added to the Smithsonian. Heck you can even throw in the microphone or better yet the names of the audio and video crew that made that day possible. I have to admit, when I saw her I did focus more on the hat instead of her pure singing talent. It was mostly bow then hat. Either way - congrats to Aretha for contributing that very unique piece of history.
:)

Today as you all may know is Election Day, please take the time to go and vote. Your vote counts regardless to what your standards are. This post is not to influence you to vote for one or the other, this post is directed to get you to go out and vote today. Many have spilled their blood in the past in order for you to have the right to vote. Not voting today only shows that your voice doesn’t matter to anyone including yourself. Please honor those who came before you and place your vote today.

Thank you

The following video that you’ll see is of Rush Limbaugh stating the true facts on what Mexico expects of you if you decide to move there. Watch it and let me know what you think.

This little tid bit came from a good friend of mine today - enjoy;

I was talking to the little girl of a friend of mine. I asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up and she replied, ‘I want to be President!’ Both of her parents are liberal Democrats and were standing there.

So then I asked her, ‘If you were President what would be the first thing you would do? She excitedly replied, ‘I’d give houses to all the homeless people.’

‘Wow - what a worthy goal.’ I told her, ‘But you don’t have to wait until you’re President to do that.

You can come over to my house and mow the yard, pull weeds, and sweep the driveway, and I’ll pay you $50. Then I’ll take you over to the grocery store where there is a homeless guy that hangs out. You can give him the $50 to use toward a house.’

Since she is only 6, she thought that over for a few seconds.
While her Mom glared at me, the little girl looked me straight in the eye and asked,
‘Why doesn’t the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?’

And I said, ‘Welcome to the Republican Party.’

Today’s meeting at one government center regarding the “funds” acquired without council approval was quite interesting in and of itself. I learned a few things while at the same time hearing the same ole bs from the council which in this case was nothing. Council had the chance to not support the ESM a few months ago but it went ahead and approved funding for it to continue to operate as an illegal venue. Yes illegal because the city of Toledo is not supposed to be in business. I hope that those that felt it necessary to okay the funds to keep the market open longer will think long and hard the next time the ESM needs more money. City council was completely embarrassed today by both the administration and the tax payers. I will be looking for a better running council for the rest of this year because from what I have seen thus far for the first half of the year I am not impressed at all.

The video below although really funny it kind of reminded me if this is how some of Jon Stainbrook supporters would act around police officers. With Stainbrook refusing to present his ID to the officer when he got caught performing indecent motions in his vehicle I found myself convinced that he would actually behave just like the man on the video. Watch the video and let me know what you think.

John McCain has been talking about energy policy, and he’s got some radical new ideas like this one: $300 million dollars to whoever can come up with a battery that will change the way we use our cars. That’s an interesting policy considering if someone did invent a battery that was suddenly used as the main power source for the country’s transportation, it would probably net that person a lot more than $300 million. But thanks for being so generous with the taxpayers money, that’s very kind of the Senator from Arizona.

The above insert is from the Glenn Beck show that aired this morning. I find it amazing how he’s quick to offer money/prize for a new battery design to the tune of $300,000 when he can easily use that money to improve the existing refineries that are located in the United States. Sometimes I wonder what truly goes through his head on a daily basis. Trust me, Obama is no different. He wants us to keep the status quo and hope that the price of gas goes up slowly and not in partial jumps. That way the Americans can be sucked dry slowly and not in gulps. What an idiot.

BCI&I“It really caught us for a loop, especially since we had a letter from him dated March 27 stating he would talk to all of us before a decision is made,” Sheriff Wasylyshyn said.“It sounds like he’s already made a decision,” the sheriff said.

The above statement is from the Toledo Blade, I can see where the mayor and the sheriff are coming from especially if the lab was there for quite some years. Now, knowing that we will have our own lab here in Toledo sounds great especially if they will be located near the Medical college/UT on Arlington. That would be great but I do have to agree with the folks in BG - the access is a lot better especially when it’s literally minutes from the highway where if they relocate to Toledo it would take at least 15 - 20 minutes to get to the lab depending on traffic.

The image you see above is the location in London, Ohio - if the plan is to spend $9 million dollars on a state-of-the-art facility it would be nice to at least see some drawings or proposed drawings of this project. I am for the BCI&I relocating to Toledo of course, now let’s hope they try to transfer some of the workers from BG so that they don’t lose their jobs as well. Can’t wait to see the outcome of this project.

Whatever your politics, however you lean, however you feel about the current administration, this report should open some eyes.

Military losses, 1980 through 2006
http://www.fas.org/sgp/crs/natsec/RL32492.pdf
As tragic as the loss of any member of the US Armed Forces is, consider the following statistics: The annual fatalities of military members while actively serving in the armed forces from 1980 through 2006:
I was surprised again. . .until it became clear to me that the point here is that our mainstream media continues to spin these figures (for political gain). Nothing more.

It’s all about politics and some politicians, who are now famous for turning American against American for a vote. (Consider Slick Willy and his comments just recently made about South Carolina, Jesse Jackson, and the ‘blacks’ voting for the ‘black’ candidates); or Hillary’s stump speech after her Super Tuesday ‘victory’ stating that the current administration does not ‘listen’ to anyone and continues the war costing precious American lives. Yes, I might even agree with her, but she should be made to acknowledge her own husband’s administration, without having an actual war, sent more soldiers to death during his regime—while also forcing the military to release Osama when we actually had him detained.

I hope that during the time between now and November, that intelligent Americans can decipher the facts from the spin and the spinners from the leaders; those who seek even more power from those that seek justice, the dividers from the uniters..

Over the next months let’s be good listeners (yes, Hillary we are listening) and see and hear who tries to divide our nation; and who wants to unite our nation.. Who wants to control how our money is spent and who wants our money spent the way we would spend it. Who seeks power and who seeks justice? Who spins the facts and who is genuine.

(These statistics are published by Congressional Research Service, and they may be confirmed by anyone at: http://www.fas.org/sgp/crs/natsec/RL32492.pdf )

The individual that I agree with is none other then Jean Lange. She had mentioned in today’s Blade that she likes it better when there is a bit of snow left on the road because it at least provides a smoother ride then without it. I live on National Ave and I can tell you first hand that on my street it’s better to have snow then it would be to have it plowed. Now if you really want to see some serious swiss cheese action on the road please take a trip on Detroit Avenue between Arlington and Glendale. Now that’s some serious duck and dodge driving there my friend. Well it’s okay the 3/4% tax got renewed so those bad roads should get some attention sooner or later and I don’t recommend you hold your breath on that because you won’t make it.

huckabee.jpgDear Faithful Friends,

Last night was a tough one for all of us. While Janet and I stood on the stage, we felt as if we were surrounded by a much larger family than our immediate family. We have been surrounded throughout the process by a large and growing family of faithful friends whose efforts in the campaign have humbled and amazed us day after day. I regularly wept or choked back tears just reading comments on the blog when I realized the sacrifices that so many have made for the campaign.

We had held out hope that we would win enough delegates to keep the contest going, but had vowed that if Senator McCain actually got the 1191 delegates, we would accept the will of the voters. In the end, the relentless hammering of the media that we “couldn’t win” influenced enough voters and while we campaigned long and hard in the final states, it simply wasn’t enough. I congratulate Senator McCain and will do what I can to assist him and influence him to take strong stands for issues that we conservatives cherish.

I don’t see the long journey having reached its destination, but merely taking a detour. As my Marine friend Clebe McLary says, “I didn’t lose–it’s just that the game ended before I got finished playing.”

In the immediate days ahead, we will be transitioning from campaign mode. For 14 months, there have been a lot of things put on hold in our lives. We have to join the many incredible people on our staff to figure out “what’s next?” But this much I can tell you—we want to stay in touch and start now building a platform to continue addressing issues that brought us together in the first place.

Throughout my life, I’ve found that there are sometimes three possible answers to our prayers–”Yes,” “No,” or “Not Now.” I would like to think our prayers were answered with a “Not Now.”

We will keep our website up and as we transition, will want to create a way to keep in touch and continue the battle for our families, our freedom, and our future. We will also focus on assisting conservative Senate and House candidates, in places where we know our investment of time and energy can make a real difference. You can expect us to be active online as we do this and to regularly solicit your opinions and support. Too many big issues are at stake for us to sit on the sidelines.

In the immediate time, we have to make sure that we pay all the bills of the campaign and end in the black, help our staff find ways to earn a living, and make sure that we don’t lose the momentum of the past 14 months, but instead follow the plan:

REFLECT, REST, RENEW, and RE-BOOT!

I really welcome your input and thoughts during these coming days. Pray for us as we seek wisdom as to what steps we take now. Despite what some have thought, we really didn’t have a “Plan B’ in the wings–we always thought we’d be in this until the inauguration in January of 2009!

God has been so good to us! We can never fully express our gratitude for all you have done and how you have touched and blessed our lives. I truly hope I didn’t let you down. I promise to you that I gave it all I had to the last minute and left it “all on the field.” What is more amazing is how you were willing to be “poured out” to the point of empty in order to be with us all the way. I stand amazed by it all and overwhelmed with gratitude.

We will dust off, pick ourselves up off the canvas, and answer the bell for the next round, whatever that may be. We love you all, and trust that the journey has just begun!

With tired bodies and grateful hearts,

Mike and Janet Huckabee

I just spent the last hour or so watching an interview by Glenn beck on Mike Huckabee regarding his thoughts and solutions through his campaign. Please if you have the time to spare please watch each of the clips. You will get a complete inside look at what Mike was, is and will be. He is definitely the one for president hands down.
