Well I have put my foot in my mouth and have mentioned that me being overweight is a choice that I made and that if I wanted to be slimmer all I had to do was say so. Well it’s day two and I’m feeling a bit tired but I feel great physically. I ma bout to do my push ups and walk my first mile of the day. I will keep posting as to me status on a day to day basis.

I would like to send a heart felt thank you to all vets present and past. I would like to share with you reading this that with the way vets are being treated whether it’s avoidance, neglect or just plain disrespect a story that I watched and it has brought me to a complete understanding that these men and women have put there lives for the betterment of this country and all they got in return was grief. Please, watch this video and get yourself involved to help the many in need.

Well I started this morning by having two sausage burritos from McDs and some water. With that I should be fine until lunch time where I haven’t decided what I’m doing since I forgot to pack my lunch last night. I did manage to do some running in place last night for about two minutes and I did three sets (15) of push ups. Just as soon as I’m done writing this post I will do some more running in place but it will be for a minute and then some jumping jacks right after.
I’m going to try to do these every half hour but seeing that it looks like I’m going to be busy today I might only be able to do it every hour. Well for those of you reading this have a great day and remember think they way I am - Every goal is reachable, you just have to try.

:)

I have decided to get an early start on my weight control. Yeah I know I’ve been saying this for many years now but when I found myself breathing hard by simply walking up and down my home stairs I knew that me putting this aside had to stop. I started out yesterday by having a small breakfast that was healthy and delicious as well. Then for lunch I had some lasagna left over from Sunday. I managed to do some push-ups throughout the day in the warehouse (where I work) and a some running in place for a minute three different times each. My dinner consisted of white rice and chicken with a glass of diet soda.

I am trying to drink more water every other hour so that I’m not so dry throughout the day. Now it’s day two and so far so good - I believe tonight is left over night so I’m probably going to have a sandwich with some cheese nips. I did manage to do some added workout segments last night and I hope to do some more tonight. Until tomorrow or maybe later on tonight - see ya.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Gainesville (Fla.) Sun reported Wednesday that Chicago Bulls forward Joakim Noah has received six months probation for a drug charge last weekend.

The former Florida Gators standout was arrested by Gainesville police early Sunday morning in the downtown area on a marijuana possession charge and for drinking alcohol in an open container.

The newspaper said that the State Attorney’s Office has confirmed that he will pay a $200 fine.

As a first-time offender, Noah was eligible for the deferred prosecution agreement and $150 will go toward a charitable contribution that provides restitution for juvenile offenders.

In separate incidents, he must pay $206 in traffic fines for two traffic citations he received Sunday night on the campus for driving with a suspended license without knowledge and not wearing a seat belt.

The 7-foot Noah helped Florida win back-to-back NCAA titles in 2006 and 2007 before he was first-round pick by the Bulls in the 2007 NBA draft.

Well, he had to pop his cherry sooner or later (drug charges that is). Well let’s hope this isn’t an early sign for a bad habit, the man has talent beyond belief. To lose such a player due to poor decision choices would be devastating to him, his family and the team. Hold your head guy and keep the road clean from this point on.

I think it’s very nice that the Nintendo Wii and their group have developed a game that gets kids and adults alike to throw in a little workout and have a good time while doing it. The Wii will probably have a Taibo version coming out if this one takes off and sells successfully. The one thing I hope those of you do who end up buying this product please remove any shoes that you might have on and make sure that any furniture that may be in the living room or wherever the Wii gets set up is out of the way so that you don’t get hurt having fun. Watch the video link below and see how this game works.

When this story hit the news ticker last week I quickly got on the phone with my mom. My mom is currently on a generic blood thinner that was prescribed to her about five months ago. I immediately asked her to read me the bottle from beginning to end. Well after about a minute of hearing her tell me the directions on how to take the drug she read me the actualdetails that I needed to hear. She does not have the type that is being questioned so Ihad a big sigh of relief.

from the article

Over the last fiscal year, the agency reported having inspected more than 1,000 foreign plants, a record. Since the agency issued its report that 19 deaths had been linked to the drug since January 1, 2007, it has received word of another 27 deaths, “but many of those do not fit our definition of this type of event,” Dr. Janet Woodcock said. In all, the FDA has received 785 heparin-linked reports of adverse events — including difficulty breathing, nausea, vomiting, excessive sweating and plummeting blood pressure that can lead to life-threatening shock.

“They’re continuing to come in fairly rapidly because there has been a lot of reporting of this,” she said.

In a written statement, Baxter said its tests have suggested “that the root cause may be associated with the crude heparin, sourced from China, or from the subsequent processing of that product before it reaches Baxter.” Meanwhile, Scientific Protein Laboratories LLC, which supplies the company with the active pharmaceutical ingredients, issued a statement saying it is working with the FDA, Baxter and outside experts to identify the cause of the adverse events.

“Thus far, no conclusions have been reached about the root cause,” it said. “It is premature to conclude that the heparin active pharmaceutical ingredient sourced from China and provided by SPL to Baxter is responsible for these adverse events.”

I will be following this story just to make sure that when they do figure out what’s going on I can immediately contact my mom and keep her informed of any issues.

I apologize to my few readers that visit this site. I have not been feeling well for the past 72 hours and today it seems to be getting a little better. I’m about 82% healthy and I’m almost back on track as far as keeping up to date on current stories and events. The following articles and stories that you will see and read are moments that I wanted to blog about before but was not feeling well enough to type and look at a screen if I didn’t have to. It’s around four now and the day is slowly coming to a close here at work.

I spent a good portion of today watching shows that dealt with weight loss. I watched a couple of episodes of a few people having bypass surgery done so that their stomachs can be smaller hence having them only eat a little bit instead of too much. I then caught an episode of The Biggest Loser tonight and I found myself relating to most of those people standing on the scales. I currently weigh 285 lbs and although my wife says that most of it is muscle I don’t necessarily agree with her. I have been trying to work out for several months but my problem is that my solution to deal with a bad day or a stressful moment is to eat something to sooth the feeling. I am not making any promises or any resolutions but I do plan on losing a lot more weight then what I’ve done thus far. I hope that I can focus more on daily tasks and keep my self in line with what I want to accomplish. I guess we’ll see when March first comes around.

Yes I should of been working out today instead of watching tv but with a heavy cold and sore muscles there’s only so much a body can do before collapsing.

Last night’s gathering was a complete success. I would like to thank those of you who took an hour of your time to join others in a peaceful gathering to acknowledge what the homeless need in order to get back on their own two feet. There was media present and Channel Eleven had a nice segment in regards to the event. I took some pictures for Glass City Jungle, the pictures will be up at some point today. We had a nice crowd of about 65 to 70 people, which included some police officers who were curious as to what was going on. With last night’s event now known by most Toledoans I hope to see a larger outcome when it comes to volunteering and involvement. Once again thank you to those who showed up. If you’re reading this and were unable to attend please find it in your heart to get the details from Ken’s site 1Matters.org and try to make it out next time.
God Bless

lostkeys.jpgI got this little tip from a friend of mine and I thought that with the recent crimes going on at homes where people break in and steal Christmas gifts this would come in handy during such moments.

Put your car keys beside your bed at night. If you hear a noise outside your home or someone is trying to get in your house, just press the panic button for your car. The alarm will be set off, and the horn will continue to sound until either you turn it off or the car battery dies. This tip came from a neighborhood watch coordinator. Next time you come home for the night and you start to put your keys away, think of this: It’s a security alarm system that you probably already have and requires no installation. Test it.

It will go off from most everywhere inside your house and will keep honking until your battery runs down or until you reset it with the button on the key chain. It works if you park in your driveway or garage

If your car alarm goes off when someone is trying to break in your house,
odds are the burglar or rapist won’t stick around… after a few seconds all
the neighbors will be looking out their windows to see who is out there and
sure enough the criminal won’t want that.

And remember to carry your keys while walking to your car in a parking lot.
The alarm can work the same way there….. This is something that
should really be shared with everyone. Maybe it could save a life or a
sexual abuse crime.

lindseycpr.jpgWhen I first heard about this story I didn’t think it was possible for this young lady to run from the stands and help the ref out. You and I would of thought that someone else would of jumped to the rescue but this teen did what she just learned not too long ago. I thank her for acting quickly and taking charge of the moment. Watch the video and you’ll see a very humble young lady that simply takes this as a simple help to someone in need. Thank you Lindsey Paradise for your attention to details when the class was taught and for acting in a quick manner to help the gentleman. It makes me feel good inside knowing that there are people out there that put themselves second in order to help someone.

Watching these individuals take donations like that breaks my heart. There are truely hundreds of people out there who donate to make someone else’s life a lot easier and now I have to find out that these very same donations are being stolen by individuals who may or may not need them. Watch the video and you can see that most of these people taking the goods don’t seem to need it as much as those who benefit from the monies generated from the sale of these donations. Some of the people confronted seem to be sorry but what’s to say they don’t go to a different location and continue this habit. I hope that those who were caught serve some community time and help serve to the needy by attending one of the many centers that provide food and shelter. That way they can get an inside understanding on why the items that they took is a great asset to maintain those and other programs.

I went to MacQueens farm yesterday to find myself buying some nice size apples and of course their specialty donuts for my wife and my daughter. The day was pretty nice and it was rather warm out. The view of fall in the trees surrounding the farm was a thing of beauty. As you can see I took some pictures of the products being sold at the market. The colors in that picture are just a few of what I saw at the market. If any of you are within the area and you know of this farm please stop by before the cold hits and walk through the apple trees and select your own apples, the experience is unforgettable.

While watching the news last night and again tonight online I want to send a special thank you to the couple that have taken the time to take the course and passing it with such a passion for the safety of their fellow neighbor and stranger. That couple is none other than Rick and Lynn Melchert. Thank you for taking the time to help the police force by offering your time and energy. What we need here in Toledo is something similar to what they have done but with the police vehicle problem we have this wonderful program won’t work all that good here, but it would be nice for Toledo to look into it.
