This is from Mike Huckabee and Co. -

Honor President Reagan

Saturday would have been Ronald Reagan’s 99th birthday. His influence and the legacy have moved so many of us, including myself, to get in involved in politics.

This weekend we are opening up the Huck PAC blog to our Team Huck Volunteers and asking them to post their thoughts/memories of President Reagan. We are also adding a blog titled “I Miss President Reagan” to our website for Huck PAC supporters and Reagan fans from across the nation to leave a message/memory of President Reagan. Throughout the day we will also post some video, excerpts of speeches and news stories about President Reagan that we have collected for tomorrow.

Our plan is to share the responses with the Reagan Library and Mrs. Reagan. Use the link below leave your messge.

I hope you will participate in this worthy project.

Mike Huckabee

I would like to send a heart felt thank you to all vets present and past. I would like to share with you reading this that with the way vets are being treated whether it’s avoidance, neglect or just plain disrespect a story that I watched and it has brought me to a complete understanding that these men and women have put there lives for the betterment of this country and all they got in return was grief. Please, watch this video and get yourself involved to help the many in need.

I received this from a good friend of mine yesterday and I felt I should share it with those of you visiting here today.

When in England, at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an example of empire building by George Bush.

He answered by saying, ‘Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return.’

You could have heard a pin drop.

There was a conference in France where a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American. During a break, one of the French engineers came back into the room saying ‘Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. What does he intended to do, bomb them?’

I would like to start out by saying ‘Thank You’ to Fred and his crew at WSPD for taking the time to go to the ESM (Erie Street Market) and displaying exactly what goes on over there on a typical “business” morning. It didn’t look very crowded at all, heck I didn’t really see much for traffic inside either. Watch the video provided by WSPD and see for yourself the wonders and glories of the market.

The Sack Lunches

I put my carry-on in the luggage compartment and sat down in my assigned seat. It was going to be a long flight. ‘I’m glad I have a good book to read and perhaps I will get a short nap,’ I thought.

Just before take-off, a line of soldiers came down the aisle and filled all the vacant seats, totally surrounding me. I decided to start a conversation. ‘Where are you headed?’ I asked the soldier seated nearest to me.

‘Petawawa. We’ll be there for two weeks for special training, and then we’re being deployed to Afghanistan .’

After flying for about an hour, an announcement was made that sack lunches were available for five dollars. It would be several hours before we reached the east, and I quickly decided a lunch would help pass the time.

Combat ArmsWell, yesterday I received an e-mail informing me that the online game that I’m playing (Combat Arms) will be going through an update and some patch work as well. I received another e-mail informing me that the update will not take place until late at night so any of the new toys and map won’t be available until the next day. This morning I woke up helped my daughter’s boyfriend get his car unstuck from a small snow bank (yes I got up and put some shoes and coat and went directly outside to help). I then went about my morning norm, I went down to my basement and powered up the pc to see what exactly were the new toys and to see what this new map looked like. Well to my surprise it turned out that the creators of the game have fixed a bunch of issues as well as demote any cheaters that were abusing some known problems in the game. Here is where the sad day for me comes in - when I played the new map I noticed that I did not have my high power gun or any of my other neat toys in my inventory. Well it turned out that my account has been “adjusted” due to some silly behavior that I and some other team mates participated in. We found a way to get extra money and experience points in the game that wouldn’t be considered honest. So, I got demoted (which I deserve) and now I’m back at “trainee” status and coming from Command Sargeant Major 3rd class to trainee is quite a drop. I will continue to play the game nonetheless but this time I will not be suckered into trying any short cuts.

January 21st 2009 - Day one has started for many of you in the same manner that it has for quite some time now but for President Obama his next four years will be different each and every morning. Reading a pretty lengthy article on CNN this morning it looks like Obama’s day is just about full and it was only 9:00am. I have not denied to mention in the past that I am a Conservative and then a Republican. I heard the numerous debates, questions and answers from the many candidates that ran for the highest office in the land where my outcome was a strong support for Mike Huckabee.

He had a strong standing but many Americans did not want to let go of McCain and his heroic past and the maverick persona. Huckabee did not make it too far but he did put up a good long fight and for that I was proud to support him then and I continue to do so still today.

With the Obama administration in the White House now, I will be looking to them all and see if what the campaign was promoting will actually hold water. Everyone is looking to focus on President Obama’s first 100 days, I plan on focusing on his entire term. Waiting to see what changes are coming - good or bad.

Even with my disagreements with Mr. Obama and his staff I still respect the man for he is the 44th president of the United States of America and I am proud of this country including its successes and failures.

While reading my updates for the day I say that one of the tips of the day was how to present a photo from today to look like it was an original from decades ago. Visit the following link to see what their process was to accomplish such a neat look.

When I take pictures I sometimes find myself wanting to make them look a bit older then what they appear. I have to be honest and say that although I tried many times to get that old look - it doesn’t really come out all that great. I will be adding a gallery with some of my favorite pictures that I have taken in 08. Check out the learning tip, it’s a great piece of information.

NINE WORDS WOMEN USE

(1) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

(2) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

(3) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.

(4) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don’t Do It!

(5) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)

(6) That’s Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man… That’s okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

(7) Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you’re welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says ‘Thanks a lot’ - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say ‘you’re welcome’. (That will bring on a ‘whatever’).

(8) Whatever: Is a woman’s way of saying F — YOU!

(9) Don’t worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking ‘What’s wrong?’ For the woman’s response refer to # 3.

The following video that you’ll see is of Rush Limbaugh stating the true facts on what Mexico expects of you if you decide to move there. Watch it and let me know what you think.

This little tid bit came from a good friend of mine today - enjoy;

I was talking to the little girl of a friend of mine. I asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up and she replied, ‘I want to be President!’ Both of her parents are liberal Democrats and were standing there.

So then I asked her, ‘If you were President what would be the first thing you would do? She excitedly replied, ‘I’d give houses to all the homeless people.’

‘Wow - what a worthy goal.’ I told her, ‘But you don’t have to wait until you’re President to do that.

You can come over to my house and mow the yard, pull weeds, and sweep the driveway, and I’ll pay you $50. Then I’ll take you over to the grocery store where there is a homeless guy that hangs out. You can give him the $50 to use toward a house.’

Since she is only 6, she thought that over for a few seconds.
While her Mom glared at me, the little girl looked me straight in the eye and asked,
‘Why doesn’t the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?’

And I said, ‘Welcome to the Republican Party.’

I found this video when searching the different types of cancer that ruin lives for many people. Ben Teller’s story is truely heart wrenching but he took it to another level and decided to face cancer head on. Watch the video and please if at all possible visit the site and be generous and donate to the cause. Great Job Ben Teller! You are definitely a soldier against the army of cancer.

This post has been written with a heavy heart filled with sadness. I received this little tid bit from a friend of mine last week but I was unable to post it due to time restraints, well that and the fact that if I’m going to be disappointed I think I should include you fine folks as well. After all these years I was hoping for better things to come my way especially when the time was right - for example:

- finding a four leaf clover
- reaching the end of a rainbow
- having a rabbit’s foot
or even wishing upon a shooting star

These are moments/scenarios that people look to in order to make a wish or hope for a new beginning. Well let me stop chatting for a bit and let you watch the video below so that you too can feel the way I do - enjoy.

Please feel free to leave me a comment regarding this “enlightened” discovery.

I got this in from a friend of mine today - I found it to be funny hopefully you will too.

History 101 (A Must Read)…This is meant to be humorous and poke fun at ourselves. Enjoy!

For those of you who slept through World History 101 here is a condensed version. Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and would go to the coas t and live on fish and lobster in the winter.

The two most important events in all of history were:
1. The invention of beer, and
2. The invention of the wheel.

The wheel was invented to get man to the beer, and the beer to the man.
These facts formed the foundation of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups:
1. Liberals
2. Conservatives.
Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture.
Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That’s how villages were formed.
