I would like to send a heart felt thank you to all vets present and past. I would like to share with you reading this that with the way vets are being treated whether it’s avoidance, neglect or just plain disrespect a story that I watched and it has brought me to a complete understanding that these men and women have put there lives for the betterment of this country and all they got in return was grief. Please, watch this video and get yourself involved to help the many in need.

This month is definitely the month - especially if you are into paintballing like I am. I haven’t paintballed in about a year or so and I’m looking into getting back into shape and signing up to the local club and begin my retraining in having some good ole fashion fun. Now in order to do this I would have to supply myself with the right gear that both protects me as well as gives me that sweet look of coolness. BDU pants would be a great start especially if you get yourself some black ones like the ones I want. The one feature that I believe is the one that stands out the most is the reinforced seat and knee patches. These two sections of the body are the ones to go first especially if you are a true baller. So if anyone is thinking about getting me something worthy and long lasting these would be it.

dtape.gifWhen I read this story it reminded me of my trip to Puerto Rico not too long ago where a woman got on the plane and then after the plane seperated from the annex tunnel she wanted to get off. Long story short she finally got off the plane and the rest of us still on clapped and said goodbye to the woman who had issues. Knowing that duct tape is now a part of the crew’s arsenal of devices to use to calm a passenger down and keeping them in place when being too unruly is just awesome. Please read the article and see that what I’m saying is not really crazy or made up. good job crew on making sure our skies are safe from unstable individuals like that woman going back to NY.

While searching for hobby ideas this morning I came across the video you see below. Now I don’t know how many of you knew about this but when I saw it it completely threw me off because here I thought that shooting rubber bands at someone one by one with your hands was bad enough but it looks like the craft world has gone a bit further then expected. Watch the video and let me know what you think. I just might get one of these just to keep my cats from climbing on the dinning room table each time we’re done with dinner. The wife might not approve but as long as the cats don’t rat me out I think it’s a great idea.

It’s nice to know that there are a few folks out there that understand the concept of protection. Joe Horn (a true Texan) was doing his duty when protecting his neighbors home while they were away. Back in November of 07 he spotted two intruders coming outside his neighbors home. He called 911 and proceeded to tell them that he had a gun and that he was going to stop them.

The two intruders began to threaten him and then crossed onto his yard. I guess this episode touched off protests from the civil rights activists who said the shooting was racially motivated and that Mr. Horn took the law into his own hands. You know, it’s moments like this that make me wonder why this group even exists.

The man was protecting someone else’s property and defending himself from what I read were unemployed illegal immigrants from Colombia and one of them was deported to Colombia in 1999 after a 1994 cocaine-related conviction.

So if the group enjoys putting their name and their reputation behind criminals like that then by all means go right ahead but I can assure you that if they keep up this bull crap they’re going to find themselves going up river with out a paddle because the American people are going to get fed up with it sooner or later.

My heart sank all the way down past my feet when I saw the video link below. When I first heard of the incident I thought my friend was going a bit too far. Well not only did my friend not go too far but I think I’m going to join him and go a little further.

Ten freaking cars go by - that’s at least ten people that saw the man on the ground and instead of calling 911 they instead decided to continue on with their lives as if he was just a piece of carpet that fell off the back of truck. Then of course in this high tech world we live in you would think that those walking by would of called 911 and reported the accident - but no.

None of them called, it took a patrol car responding to another call to notice the man and then dispatched help. I watched the video again and it looks like the first car that drove by him either couldn’t wait for the SUV to drive faster so he/she decides to go around the vehicle but then I saw the second car hit the man and instead of stopping they not only kept on going but they were right behind the first and even turned down the same road.

I’m assuming the cars were stolen and they had to get away quickly or we actually have impatient drivers out there that are willing to do the unthinkable just to get to where their going a few seconds earlier.

Those people really suck and I hope that those folks that decided to stare instead of help keep this day in their mind fresh from now until the day they pass on. Unbelieveable.

Growing up on the east coast I didn’t really see any tornadoes in the immediate area or in the nearby states as well. I grew up in New London, CT and found that the winters there are much worse then what they are here in Toledo, OH. When winter came during my younger years I would pretty much get the usual clothing ready but living in Connecticut you know that the layers of clothing was pretty much the norm.

Now, when spring came around the corner you would start to look out for heavy rain falls, lighting storms as well as thunder storms. We (my family and I) never thought about tornadoes because such a natural disaster wouldn’t never occur where we lived, the only thing that we did consider fearing a lot were hurricanes. Yes, hurricanes at times found their way up the east coast after pounding through other states on its’ way up.

Well now that I live here in Toledo I don’t have to worry about hurricanes any more, the one thing I need to worry about are tornadoes. I believe that tornadoes should be considered to be the most feared entity, simply for the fact that you never know when it’s going to strike. I have heard and seen warnings on tv but nothing has ever come too close to me to be worried. If you have a chance watch the video at the end of this post and watch how a tornado can turn a nice looking office into a complete disaster.

collision.jpgLast week my friend was in an accident just north from where I live. She and her husband were heading home after work when a woman decided to run a caution yellow arrow that became red before she was half way through the intersection. My friend hit the vehicle that was turning because the woman failed to yield when she was supposed to. Well to make a long story short my friend had to search for an autobody paint and repair shop so that she can get an estimate on the total damages. Now I did mention to her that there are sites out there that will help her with any questions she might have. I will mention CollisionRepairExperts.com to her today so that she can see if their expertise can help her out. Now if we can only suggest the woman who failed to obey the rules of the road this site she can then turn around and offer it to whom ever she cuts off next. Yes I know that’s a far stretch attempt but it is a good attempt nonetheless, right? Get the details and information today so that you’re better prepared in the future.

During my lunch today I was reading and watching a story about a woman who had called 911 to get someone out to her place so that they can keep an ex-boyfriend from beating her or possibly killing her. Well after a three hour conversation going back and forth the operator decides to mention that he didn’t give a sh*t what happened to her. Grant it he said after she had hung up but the recorder was still going. When the woman found out that he had said that she broke into tears because not only did she not have any immediate help to protect her from any future assaults but now she’s hesitant on calling 911 knowing that the care factor is at a low level. Now I know that this was just one operator but until this broke out it was known that there weren’t any heartless opertors working there.

Then I bump into another 911 operator news done by Nancy Grace, the operator in this one falls asleep while taking a call from a concerned caller fearing for her well being. Now how tired are you that you can’t even keep awake during a 911 CALL. They have suspended the individual as well as the supervisor but they have not determined if it was with or without pay.

I came across this article today and it reminded me that even though someone is dead they are not forgotten - I’m not talking about family members remembering, I’m talking about complete strangers that are taking the extra step to identify and locate the unnamed and the missing.

The unnamed dead are everywhere — buried in unmarked graves, tagged in county morgues, dumped in rivers and under bridges, interred in potter’s fields and all manner of makeshift tombs. There are more than 40,000 unnamed bodies in the U.S., according to national law enforcement reports, and about 100,000 people formally listed as missing.

My wife and I have taken two years from our lives pursuing the same goal. It started out with the search of my wife’s family and it ended up being a large collection of names that did not have a home or place. She has published a great book titled “In Memory of…The loved and the forgotten of Ohio“. In this book you’ll read and see the many cemeteries we’ve seen and visited. You will also get an inside look of what my wife has found while researching soldiers that fount in the war here in Ohio many many years ago. I am glad to know that there is a network out there that is relentless in finding out what others chose to ignore.

I got this info from a good friend the other day. I want you to please watch the video and then tell me what you think. Please leave a comment regarding your thoughts as well as what you would do different. I can tell you this much without ruining the video for you - I plan on trying this at least once a month because my family’s future is too precious to lose.

My candidacy is, and always has been, about convictions – and the issues and core values that are critical to our country’s future, such protecting traditional marriage, the sanctity of life, individual empowerment and a revamping of our federal tax code to encourage productivity. It’s about lifting Americans up, from hope to higher ground, with a positive vision for America’s future that is grounded in a belief in our nation’s basic goodness, and defined by a ‘can—do’ spirit that knows how to gets things done. My goal is to offer Republican voters, a voice and a choice in this election.

The last four out of five U.S. Presidents have been governors, and there is a reason for this: the challenges facing our nation require steady, experienced, executive management. As governor of Arkansas for 10 ½ years, I delivered on my promises to cut taxes 94 times, reduce welfare by half, reform health care for children and our education system, and transform our transportation infrastructure. My record of results, achieved with a Democrat legislature, gives a meaningful viability to my candidacy.

There are millions of Republicans from across this country who have yet to be heard from. Clearly we were disappointed by the results in Wisconsin, but I look forward to campaigning hard in Texas and Ohio this week – and taking my case before the good people of those states.

To protect and serve, that’s the mission of police officers. But a News 11 investigation has revealed some policies within the Toledo Police Department (TPD) are allowing officers to sit and serve — for years at a time. reporter Jonathan Walsh

The piece that you have just read is from one of WTOL’s news reporter. Jonathan Walsh has had a few stories that I found to be fair and on point but last night’s presentation on the TPD (Toledo Police Department) was in my opinion true while in other segments it seemed to be a bit below the belt. I heard Chief Navarre this morning on the WSPD defending the TPD’s view and position. Channel 11 focused on officers at the office that were “in office” as opposed to being on the street. It would of been nice if Walsh would of completed his homework before going on the air with that piece.

Now I don’t know who was in charge of promoting the segment but if you were to watch the 30 second snip you would of thought that the TPD is taking tax dollars and completely spending it unwisely and illegally. I suggest that the story be covered and promoted in the same manner. With it being February and this seems to be the month of ratings they should rethink their position before airing such contents, the last thing they need is bad ratings due to poor reporting. An officer on light duty and an officer on duty are one in the same - they are police officers in all aspects, the news organization doesn’t run the same way so it’s easy to make this an issue for us the tax payers. TPD has a contract and they agree and sign it each time, so apparently the officers are okay with the deal. Either way, we have officers on duty - we should have more like promised but that’s a whole other drama moment.
Watch the video and let me know if this is even a story.

After hearing about the fight then watching the video coverage I quickly thought about where was the extra help when it was needed. A bunch of seventh graders fighting then assaulting a teacher for trying to break it up is just disgusting. These kids should not of been fighting for starters but for them to fight the teacher is completely unnecessary. I know this sounds wrong but I hope the teacher had a few good hits on them before getting smothered by kicks and punches.

I also heard that a few other students that were in the class room were given detentions or suspensions, look if you stood there and decided not to help the teacher out then you are just as guilty. Let’s be thankful that the teacher was not killed because of these morons because then it would of gone from suspension and expultion to straight murder. Justice should be blind but when these kids think that they can run the program the way they see fit then I suggest lady justice takes a peek and remembers that regardless if you old or young - a crime is a crime and the penalty should be delt accordingly.

Last night I watched Fox Toledo News at 10pm and I saw a gentleman throwing a temper tantrum inside the court house. Well it turns out that he behaved that way because Judge James Bates sentenced his 23-year-old brother Rizharr Holmes to 24 years in jail after raping a senior citizen with multiple sclerosis. Now I wish I knew what it was that he said to the bailiffs that he thought would change the outcome of his brother’s sentence.

Look, the man was guilty of raping someone regardless what the age was of the victim. He broke the law, so for his brother to act up like a two year old doesn’t help the matter if anything it will makes matters worse. Well now Mr. Aundra Parnell has something in common with his brother - doing something stupid and being caught. Now the family has to deal with not only one but two sons potentially serving time. Nice move hero.
