BOSTON (UPI) — Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett combined for 55 points Wednesday and Boston held on down the stretch for a 96-89 playoff victory over Cleveland.

The Celtics took a 3-2 lead in the Eastern Conference semifinal series and will try to close out the Cavaliers in Cleveland Friday.

Cleveland took a 14-point lead early in the second quarter, but the Celtics closed to within three at halftime and began to pull away late in the third.

The Cavaliers, however, closed within four during the final minute and Boston needed five free throws from Pierce in the last 15 seconds to protect its lead.

Pierce scored 29 points and Garnett had 17 rebounds to go with his 26 points. Rajon Rondo contributed 20 points and 13 assists.

Cleveland’s LeBron James scored 35 points, but only 12 of them came in the second half. Until the Cavaliers’ late push, James had managed just four points in the final two quarters.

Cleveland hurt its cause by missing 13 of 41 free throws and 13 of 16 three-point attempts.

With tomorrow’s game just around the corner I hope that the Cavs get their act together because I would love to see them match up against the other so called talents still fighting to win that ever popular NBA Championship.

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (AP) A Nashville, Tennessee, 911 operator has been fired after he was recorded saying that he didn’t “give a s—” about what happened to a woman who had just called to report her ex-boyfriend was threatening her.

I’m going to archive this post under “people who suck”. If you know deep down that you really don’t care about individuals who are in need of help then please do not apply for civil jobs. Let someone else who does care apply and work to help those unfortunate one.

After hanging up with her but while still being recorded, he said, “I really don’t give a s— what happens to you.”

Like I said before - if you are not capable of helping others with an open mind as well as an open heart then don’t pursue a job that requires it.

When talking to my family about their needs towards perscription drugs we came to the obvious conclusion that they need to find what they need at a reasonable price. Some pharmacies have a deal where they can get sell you “common” drugs for $4.00 but what they don’t tell you is that the drugs available at that price are the generic and mostly used drugs. Now the title to this post comes in strongly for my uncle in Boston, He suffers from E.D. and has been trying to get something to help him in that department. Well after his initial research he found that the prices for such drugs like Cialis, viagra and levitra were too high and he couldn’t afford them. I plan on calling him today and directing him to edrugstore.md where they not only offer the needed drug(s) for his situation but they have them at a price where he can afford them without having an issue with the cost. I will also mention to him that the site is very well designed and is very user friendly, the feature that I found to be very helpful was the “ask a physician” section. Here you can ask a question such as “What is obesity?” and you’ll be directed to a different page where it explains to you in detail what the answer is. Please, if you are in need of help on perscription drugs and you also have some questions regarding those very same drugs then by all means stop on by and check it out for yourself.

NEW YORK (AP) A New York City man is suing JetBlue Airways Corp. for more than $2 million because he says a pilot made him give up his seat to a flight attendant and sit on the toilet for more than three hours on a flight from California.

With that first piece to start the story you can pretty much assume that this guy was not happy. Now I don’t know about those of you reading this but when I’m either traveling in a bus or a subway train and I see a lady standing up I quickly offer my seat to her out of chivalry. Now with this story I find myself wondering why didn’t the attendant just sit in the seat that is provided for them. Well it turns out that the attendant was uncomfortable in that chair so she required a “customer” seat. Now read this next piece -

Mutlu (the customer) was traveling on a “buddy pass,” a standby travel voucher that JetBlue employees give to friends, from New York to San Diego on February 16, and returned to New York on February 23, the lawsuit said.Initially, Mutlu was told a flight attendant had taken the last seat on the plane, but then he was advised she would sit in the employee “jump seat,” meaning he could have the last seat, the lawsuit said.

The pilot told him 1 1/2 hours into the five-hour flight that he would have to relinquish the seat to the flight attendant, court papers say. But the pilot said that Mutlu could not sit in the jump seat because only JetBlue employees were permitted to sit there, the lawsuit said.

Now I have heard of these “buddy passes” before; and from what I understand they are to be treated no different then regular flight tickets. So if Mr. Mutlu had one of these passes then the attendant was pretty much S.O.L. on the available seat. Now if an attendant can take a passenger’s seat just because she/he isn’t satisfied with the seat provided for him/her why can’t the individual that lost the seat just sit in the seat that was supposedly uncomfortable? Well, because of rules and regulations passengers can not sit in the “jumper seats” - now isn’t there also rules and regulations about being out of your seat especially when the “pilot” has asked everyone to please be seated and have seat belts fastened? It’s kind of hard to fasten a seat belt when you’re in a freakin bathroom holding onto the faucet and paper holder now isn’t it. I hope Mr. Mutlu wins the lawsuit, what JetBlue has to do now is either make the “jumper seats” a little more comfortable or install seat belts on the toilets. Knowing the way things are now a days they’ll probably go for the belts on toilet route.

The title for this post is something I have to use because I try to keep a clean blog. When I heard from a co-worker that a fan was run over because they disagreed with a person about that person’s choice for a baseball team I couldn’t believe it at first. Well wouldn’t you know it, some nut-job decided to run over a man because he and his friends were singing a very well known song that’s titled “Yankees Suck”. The deceased man was a Red Sox fan, the woman decided that instead of just walking away from these guys acting stupid to simply “scare” them with her car.

Well, she not only didn’t scare them but she managed to get charged with 2nd degree murder. I’m sorry but when I’m in an arguement with my friends or non-friends I know when to back off and call it a day, from what they have reported thus far it looks like the woman was in a fight with the group after leaving the sports bar. I want to simply say that no matter what your opinion is about a team - please refrain from going to far where someone can get hurt or in this case killed. If she is given time in jail I hope that the family sends her a picture/poster of the man she killed wearing Red Sox apparel.

It’s been about a week or so since I posted about my mom and dad visiting and their amazement of how the gas prices can go up so quickly. Well last week I received the video clip below from a friend of mine - when I got done watching this I was completely shocked that something like this hasn’t hit the assembly lines yet. Now I don’t know when the interview aired on that channel but knowing what the potential could be for something like that is just amazing. Watch the video and let me know what you think.

looking for foodThis shot was taken just after the gorilla section. This little guy would follow just about anyone that had possible edible contents in their hands. Although he wasn’t loud and demanding he did have that walk that made it very clear to those watching that he was willing and able to walk the distance for a little bit of something.

you looking at me?The image you see to the left was one that I took on my last visit to the zoo. This was taken inside the Bird House. Out of the many pictures I took this one definitely came out great. The way it looked at me when the shot was taken is simply remarkable. I have a few other ones that I took but like I said, this one is a definite eye catcher.

It’s that time of the year where you find yourself carrying a bucket some cleaner and a rag, that’s right - Spring Cleaning. Now in my house we don’t necessarily clean our blinds because the cats and dogs tend to destroy them throughout the winter months trying to get a look outside. So we’re constantly replacing window blinds on a monthly basis. Now what I did notice is that NoBrainerBlinds.com has a selection of strong blinds that can withstand a direct attack from pets. Now that’s what I need to arm my windows with. If you are in search for a new look to your home and would like to welcome the Summer months ahead of schedule then please visit today and start styling.

My parents stopped by to see me this past weekend on their way back to Connecticut. They came in my dad’s RV, they started their tour from CT to TX then visited Mexico for about two weeks then decided to pay me a visit here in Ohio. I spent about 20 minutes talking to them about what the gas prices were throughout the many states. After writing down all the info I realized that Dallas, TX had the cheapest gas of all the states visited. They had their marker set at $3.10 per gallon which isn’t really a great deal but compared to what the price is now it definitely sounds better.

Well about two days before they had to head back home my dad decided to get gas at the local gas station, well before we did that I took them both to one of the parks here and when we drove past the gas station the marker read $3.31 per gallon. Now of course it’s high but to my dad it wasn’t too bad - we spent about an hour at the park and then decided to head back to my house. We did not take the same route back home that we took to get to the park.

Well we got home and fired up the RV and headed on over to fill up - in a matter of an hour and a half the price went from $3.31 to $3.49 per gallon. My dad was pissed, I have mentioned to him before that the prices here tend to jump really high without any warning but for him to actually see it was simply priceless. His jaw dropped and the first thing that came out of his mouth was “Figures, Now let’s see if they drop it that fast!”

We ended up driving to another location a few blocks away - thankfully their markers were set to $3.31 still. So after $83.00 of gas was poured into the RV my dad was once again calm and ready to enjoy the rest of the day. I did not ask him what his total bill was for gas during the entire trip but I can assume it’s well beyond $1,000. The video clip below is of a gas station on the New Jersey turnpike that had a nice long line of vehicles waiting to fill up before the price hike.
